DOT TESTING REASONS

PRE-EMPLOYMENT: For some safety-sensitive positions.

RANDOM: Employees are selected at random for testing to deter drug use.

POST ACCIDENT: After a specific type of accident occurs.

REASONABLE SUSPICION: When a supervisor observes signs of impairment.

RETURN-TO-DUTY: After an employee has violated a drug policy and is returning to a safety-sensitive role.
